1. Commitment

Vertical AI is an engineering consultancy specializing in data platforms, AI systems, AI agents, and intelligent automation, based in Cali, Colombia. We recognize that our operations, while low in direct environmental impact, carry a footprint tied to energy consumption, technology infrastructure, and the day-to-day work of our team. We are committed to managing this footprint responsibly and continually improving our environmental performance.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all activities, services, and operations of Vertical AI, including our team's remote work, our use of cloud infrastructure, and our relationships with suppliers and clients.

3. Objectives

• Minimize energy and resource consumption in our day-to-day operations.
• Prioritize remote work and digital tools to reduce travel and paper consumption.
• Select cloud infrastructure providers with energy-efficiency commitments and/or renewable energy use where possible.
• Responsibly manage the lifecycle of electronic equipment (conscious purchasing, maintenance, and certified recycling or disposal of retired equipment — e-waste).
• Promote the efficient use of paper, water, and energy in our offices.
• Comply with Colombian environmental regulations applicable to our business.
• Raise our team's awareness of responsible consumption and waste disposal practices.

4. Specific Commitments

• Energy: we favor low-power equipment and powering down devices outside working hours.
• Paper and consumables: we operate with largely digital processes (contracts, invoicing, client communication), keeping paper use to a minimum.
• Electronic waste: retired technology equipment is sent for recycling or disposal through authorized waste managers, avoiding disposal with ordinary waste.
• Cloud providers: where technically and commercially feasible, we give preference to infrastructure providers with public sustainability or carbon offset programs.
• Mobility: we promote remote work and virtual meetings as standard practice, reducing the need for travel.

5. Legal Compliance

Vertical AI is committed to complying with applicable Colombian environmental legislation, as well as with any environmental requirements our clients and business partners establish contractually.

6. Continuous Improvement

We review this policy periodically (at least once a year) to ensure it remains current and to evaluate opportunities to improve our environmental performance as the organization grows.
